Concert 1 - Friday 19th November, 7.00pm Ensemble Liaison live in concert @ The Cube, Wodonga

Described by Limelight magazine as a ‘national treasure’, Ensemble Liaison is one of Australia’s leading internationally acclaimed ensembles. They are renowned for their captivating and engaging performances, appealing to audiences from all walks of life. They presented their first concert series at The Edge, Melbourne, in 2007 and have become known as a tour de force, recognised for imaginative and innovative programming, setting the trend for brilliant collaborations with leading artists.

Well known to Border audiences for their exciting and vibrant renditions of Piazzolla tangos and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on their last visit, the trio made a big impact here and MRFM are delighted to invite them back to entertain border audiences in September.

Concert 2 - Saturday 20th November, 1.15pm Inventi Ensemble live in concert @ Bonegilla Migrant Centre.

This unique immersive experience includes 30min discounted pre-concert tours available for patrons wishing to deepen their understanding of the Migrant Centre's rich and varied history. The concert features Dvorák’s famous 'New World Symphony' which is a generous and thrilling meditation on home and migration, a perfect fit for Bonegilla and its many stories. The concert also includes a world premiere by the North-East's own internationally renowned composer, Gordon Kerry. Don't miss this one-off historic music event!

Food and beverages will be available for purchase prior to the concert when the doors open at 2.00pm. For patrons selecting to participate in the pre-concert guided tour of the centre, please arrive in time for a 1.15pm start.

Concert 3 - Sunday 21st November, 5.30pm Elysian Fields live in concert @ Gateway Jazz Basement, Wodonga

Bringing together some of Australia’s jazz greats like saxophonist Matt Keegan, pianist Matt McMahon, drummer Dave Goodman and bass Siebe Pogson with leading early music performers Jennifer Eriksson and Susie Bishop, Elysian Fields is an ongoing experiment in creating new improvised and composed repertoire for the electric viola da gamba – of which Eriksson is the only Australian exponent. Their music has been described as 'a compelling mixture of Scandinavian folk, classical and jazz influences – that really compels..’

This performance also includes a new work by Gordon Kerry 'I Dreamed I Moved Among the Elysian Fields', composed for the ensemble and premiered in Sydney in 2019.
